The Role:

Due to continued growth in the construction industry, our Kempsey office is looking for a Trainee Draftsman to kick-start their career within our team. This is an exceptional opportunity to begin your career within a civil and structural engineering consulting company in a small office environment.

You will be responsible for enrolling in the Certificate IV in Residential Drafting TAFE Course as well as learning and performing all aspects of drafting in a trainee capacity. Under supervision, you will be required to deliver a wide range of structural engineering design projects, ranging from new homes to alterations and additions to existing structures and other interesting civil building projects. You will be exposed to engineering disciplines including civil and building services.

Who are you?

• Previous drafting experience not required
• Good computer skills as you will be learn AutoCAD and REVIT drafting programs.
• Willing to enrol in the Certificate IV in Residential Drafting TAFE Course and dedicate 1 day per week at work and approximately 8hrs other time to studying and completing the course work.
• Committed and willing to learn
• Hard working, proactive and an ability to work autonomously within a busy environment and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Good attention to detail

Salary and Conditions

• The position is 5 days per week which includes 1 day for course work and study onsite at Dennis Partners.

• The commencing salary is $38,000 inclusive of super
